Season of Advent, there will be an 8:00 Mass celebrated every Saturday.
In preparation for the celebration of the Birth of Jesus Christ, plan on
starting your Saturdays by sharing in the Eucharistic Celebration.
8, is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, a Holy Day of Obligation for
all Catholics. This is also the day we celebrate Mary as the Patroness
of the United States of America.

St. Vincent de Paul Youth Bake
2-3, the youth chapter of the Parish Conference of the Society of St.
Vincent de Paul will hold its annual bake sale to fund the group's
participation in the Parish Advent Giving Tree. The group has
already adopted three teens from Northwest High School who are supported
by the Homeless Youth Initiative. Depending on what they can raise,
they will add those in need who are included in the Parish Giving Tree
The SVDP Youth
will be shopping on Saturday morning, December 9 and that evening, after
attending the 5:00 PM Mass together, will have their Christmas dinner
together and then wrap all their purchases.
event allows our SVDP Youth not only to live the mission of the society to
provide assistance to the poor and vulnerable, but allows them to be a
part of the parish life and Our Lady Queen of Peace's outreach to those in
need in our immediate area. Please be generous in supporting the
efforts of these young people!
December Blood Drive
December 7, the Red Cross will be at Our Lady Queen of Peace from 2:00 until
7:00 PM in the cafeteria for our annual, December Blood Drive In Advent, we
wait with hope for the life and light that the coming of Christ offers to
the world. What better way to enter into this season of hope than to offer
the gift of life to others in our world by donating blood!
Giving Tree / Pennies for the Poor
the first weekend of Advent, December 2-3, the Advent Giving Tree and
Pennies for the Poor Collection bottle will be on display in the gathering
area. These are two traditions of our parish in which we reach out to
the poor and vulnerable during the holiday season.

Parishioners are asked to buy and wrap the present and place it back under
the tree - with the ornament attached for purposes of identification - by

Those We Remembered
During the month of November,
the church remembers and prays for those who have died over the past year and
commends them to the Lord. In conjunction with the Feast of All
Souls, the Ministry of Consolation held a service of remembrance in which
a rose and a candle were presented to the families of those who had
suffered the loss of a loved one in the last year.

Reminders and Notices
- Breakfast is served after
7:30 and 9:30 Masses on the first Sunday of each month - prepared and
served by the Knights of Columbus.
- The third Sunday of each
Month is Hospitality Sunday. Coffee and Donuts are served after all Masses.
- Please submit all
publication and communication requests with the Online Form.
- There is an 8:00 AM Mass
on the first Saturday of each month.
- There is a 10:00 AM Mass
celebrated at the Big Rivers Nursing Home on the third Saturday of each month.
- Eucharistic Adoration is
held every Wednesday from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM
- Parish Pride and the
Facilities and Maintenance Committee sponsor a volunteer work day on the
second Saturday of each month, from 8:30 until 10:30 AM.
- Our Lady of Perpetual Help
devotions are held after the 8:00 AM Mass every Tuesday.
- The RCIA Program meets
every Tuesday at 6:45 PM in School Building D.
- PSR meets every Monday
from 6:15 - 7:35 PM.
- The Quilters meet every
Tuesday in the Parish Office.
